British neo-Nazis given Bundestag tour by German far-right AfD MP

British neo-Nazis from the Homeland Party have been given a guided tour of the German Bundestag at the invitation of Steffen Kotré, a member of Germany’s far-right Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) party, which surged to second place in national elections held last month.

The Homeland Party split from the British neo-Nazi group Patriotic Alternative (PA) in April 2023 and held their inaugural meeting on Adolf Hitler’s birthday.

Homeland members present in Berlin included Anthony Burrows (nominating officer), Alec Cave (national media officer), Kenny Smith (chairman), Steve Laws (South East regional organiser) and Martin Kuziel (international relations officer).

Anthony Burrows, a former East Midlands regional organiser for PA, had his shotguns seized by police after sharing links to neo-Nazi terrorist material and describing Hitler as “Uncle A” on social media.

Alec Cave, also a former PA member, lost an employment tribunal in 2023 after he was sacked from his job for racist social media posts. The judge presiding over the tribunal described Cave’s beliefs as “akin to Nazism”.

Homeland chairman Kenny Smith is a former national administration officer for PA and a former candidate, Scottish regional organiser and head of administration for the British National Party.

In August 2021 Smith, then a national officer for PA, appeared on a podcast whose hosts routinely glorified terrorism. In other episodes, the podcast’s hosts praised the Finsbury Park attacker and spoke of “teaching people how to Holocaust.”

Two former hosts are in prison for neo-Nazi terrorism offences. During the interview, Smith described himself as a “racial nationalist”. Smith also boasted about launching PA’s fitness clubs with one of the hosts now in jail for sharing neo-Nazi terrorist manifestos.

Steve Laws, a fascist anti-migrant activist and Homeland’s South East regional organiser, has advocated for “forced repatriation” for millions of non-white Britons.

Martin Kuziel is a former West Midlands regional organiser for PA. Kuziel has been instrumental in building ties between Homeland and the AfD. Last November, he met with Bundestag AfD MP Gunnar Lindemann in Warsaw, Poland, after a far-right conference.
