Premium: Analysis of Patriot Platform with Richard Hames

Patriot Platform has seemingly arrived out of nowhere as the latest name around which the far right has mobilised. However, PP is just the latest of wave of a tendency on the far right that includes the English Defence League, Democratic Football Lads Alliance and Raise the Colours.

Whilst there are a lot of commonalities between PP and what came before, the broader political landscape has changed greatly. This is most noticeable on the broader right. PP's debut action was rationalised by right wing commentators and politicians, indeed some welcomed it. Danny Tommo (real name Daniel Thomas) has some of the same affect as his mentor Tommy Robinson, but it remains unclear if PP can maintain itself while he is on remand. Generative AI, still a new technology, has been heavily used in PP's communications.

For the first premium episode of the Red Flare podcast I am joined by my old co-host Richard Hames to discuss all this and more, listen to the full conversation below. The episode is available to paying subscribers for now, and will be unlocked later.
