Fascist group Patriotic Alternative (PA) is currently holding its secret annual conference at the Hanbury Memorial Hall which is west of Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, off the A38.
Australian neo-Nazi Blair Cottrell, who has expressed admiration for Hitler and claimed to have manipulated women “using violence and terror”, is due to speak at the conference. Cottrell has convictions for stalking, arson, steroid dealing and burglary.
British neo-Nazi James Owens aka The Ayatollah is also due to speak. Owens stands out for his irate, violent rhetoric, rabid anti-Semitism and use of racial slurs. Owens has said, “We’re still fighting Hitler’s war, it’s just a guerrilla war now”.
Fascist survivalist Simon Birkett is another speaker. Birkett lives in woodland outside Warminster, where he owns Shorty’s Tattoo Studio. Birkett is the organiser of an initiative for fascists to buy patches of land and is a former BNP and NF member.
PA leader Mark Collett and deputy leader Laura Melia (aka Laura Towler) will also be addressing the event. Collett is an admirer of Hitler and Melia is an Oswald Mosley obsessive. The pair are two of the most prominent British neo-Nazi online content creators.
The speakers at PA’s conference are markedly different from those at the fascist Homeland Party’s conference last month. PA has guests who are outspoken neo-Nazis and anti-Semites, rather than elected politicians from far-right parties.
